Terms of Service
Version 1.0 · Effective date: 3 November 2026
Who we are and these terms
HerSpace is provided by Higher Detail Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 10640477), at 7 Crossbrook Street, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, EN8 8EB, United Kingdom.
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of the HerSpace app and services. Please read them before creating an account. How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
The HerSpace iOS app is licensed to you under Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement. That licence covers your right to use the downloaded app; these Terms also govern the HerSpace services and our relationship with you. Where a mandatory consumer right conflicts with these Terms, that right applies.
Eligibility and acceptance
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into an agreement to use HerSpace. HerSpace is for your own personal use.
By creating an account and accepting these Terms when they are shown to you, you agree to them. If you do not accept them, do not create an account or use HerSpace. Any consent you give for privacy or AI features is a separate choice and is not part of your agreement to these Terms.
What HerSpace offers
HerSpace helps you prepare for challenging moments, check in with yourself, capture small wins, keep a journal, save personal Proof, park worries and practise conversations. It includes optional AI Companion and role-play features, calming exercises and calendar planning.
Some features need an internet connection, an account, device permissions or a Pro subscription. The features and limits shown in the app form part of the description of what is available to you.
Not a medical or emergency service
HerSpace is for everyday self-reflection and confidence-building. It is not a medical provider, therapist, counsellor, crisis service or emergency service, and nothing in it is a diagnosis, treatment or substitute for professional advice.
Do not rely on HerSpace to recognise or respond to an emergency. The urgent-support information in the app may not list the right service for where you are. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent medical or mental-health help, contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional.
Use your own judgement about whether to follow any general wellbeing suggestion, especially when your circumstances call for professional support.
Your account
You can sign up with an email address or a supported Apple or Google sign-in. Keep your account and device secure, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account.
You are responsible for activity you authorise on your account, except where it results from our failure to take reasonable care or the law says otherwise.
We may send you essential messages about your account or the service, such as verification and password-reset emails.
Free and Pro
HerSpace has free features and an optional paid subscription, HerSpace Pro. The features and any usage allowances for each tier are shown in the app. AI features are not unlimited on either tier: fair-use limits, safety controls and technical availability apply.
We may add or improve features over time. If a change would materially reduce what you are paying for during a subscription period, we will meet our obligations under consumer law, including any notice or refund that is due.
Subscriptions, trials and cancellation
Purchases and renewals are handled by Apple through the App Store. Pro may be offered monthly or yearly. Before you confirm a purchase, the App Store shows the subscription, its billing period and the amount charged at each renewal. Prices, taxes and offers can vary by country.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel. A free trial or introductory offer is available only when it is shown to you and Apple confirms you are eligible; the purchase screen states how long it lasts and what you will pay afterwards. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it becomes a paid subscription.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you normally keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.
Deleting your HerSpace account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it separately if you no longer want to pay.
For refunds, use Apple's process at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing in these Terms removes a refund or remedy you are entitled to by law.
AI features
The AI Companion and role-play use an outside AI provider to generate conversational replies, summaries and practice conversations. The AI is not a person, adviser or clinician, and it can produce content that is inaccurate, incomplete, biased or unexpected.
Role-play characters are fictional. They do not predict what a real person will say, and AI suggestions do not guarantee any outcome.
We may screen AI requests for safety and may limit, refuse or end AI conversations that appear to involve unlawful activity, dangerous misuse, prohibited sexual or violent content, attempts to get around our safeguards, or other serious misuse. Safety controls can make mistakes and cannot catch every risk.
AI features may be limited by daily allowances, your subscription, provider capacity, network problems or maintenance. Your content is sent to the AI provider only after you give separate permission, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
Your content and AI output
You keep any rights you have in your journal entries, Proof, photos, notes and other content you create. We do not claim ownership of it.
You allow us and our service providers to process content you choose to submit to a feature, only as needed to provide that feature, keep the service secure and meet our legal obligations. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
Make sure you have the right to save or submit what you add, including other people's personal information or photos. Do not use HerSpace to share anyone else's private information unlawfully.
AI replies may resemble replies given to other people and are not guaranteed to be original. You may use them for your own personal purposes.
Content saved on your device
Most of what you save in HerSpace is stored only on your device and is not restored by signing in on another device. If you lose or replace your device, uninstall the app or clear its storage, that content may be lost unless your device backup includes it. You can export some entries.
Acceptable use
Use HerSpace only for lawful, personal purposes. You must not:
- try to access other people's accounts or information without permission
- interfere with, disrupt or reverse engineer our systems, except as the law or an open-source licence allows
- get around purchase controls, usage limits, account security or AI safeguards
- use HerSpace to threaten, harass or exploit anyone, or to plan unlawful harm
- submit code or content designed to compromise HerSpace or our providers
None of this stops you from honestly reflecting on difficult experiences or asking for support through the app's features.
Service providers
Some features rely on service providers, and App Store purchases are also subject to Apple's terms. We remain responsible for providing HerSpace with the care the law requires, whichever providers we use.
Availability and changes to the service
HerSpace may sometimes be unavailable because of maintenance, faults, network outages, safety issues or problems with our providers. We will take reasonable steps to keep it running.
We may update HerSpace for security, compatibility and improvements. We will not make a materially worse change to a paid service without following consumer law, including any notice or remedy that is due.
Suspension and account deletion
You can stop using HerSpace at any time, or permanently delete your account in the app under Me → Account → Delete my account and data. Our Privacy Policy explains what deletion removes and what it does not reach.
We may restrict or suspend your access where reasonably necessary to prevent a serious security problem, abuse, unlawful activity or a serious breach of these Terms. Where appropriate and lawful, we will tell you why and how to contact us.
Ending your account does not affect rights and obligations that already exist, or any remedy you have under consumer law.
Our intellectual property
The HerSpace name, design, software and content belong to Higher Detail Limited or its licensors, except content that belongs to you or is provided under third-party or open-source licences. You may not resell or distribute our materials without permission. This does not limit any right the law or an open-source licence gives you.
Our responsibilities and your legal rights
We will provide HerSpace with the reasonable care and skill the law requires. We do not promise that using HerSpace will lead to any particular confidence, work, relationship or health outcome.
We are responsible for loss caused by our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill, where that loss was reasonably foreseeable. We are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, except where the law says otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
If you have a concern, email us at privacy@higherdetail.com so we can try to resolve it. You can bring a claim in any court that has jurisdiction, and nothing in these Terms takes away your right to complain to a regulator or use any other remedy the law gives you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the law, security needs or the service. When we do, we will post the new version here and change the version number and effective date above. Where the law requires it, we will tell you in advance or ask for your agreement before a material change takes effect.
If you do not accept a change that needs your agreement, you can stop using the affected service and use any cancellation or refund rights you have.
